There are so many celebrities who still look prettier and sexier with an increase in age and Shilpa Shetty is one of them. We have been seeing this 43 years old Bollywood since we had seen her for the first time in the movie Baazigar (1993) to till the judge of any reality show. Though her personality and appearance have changed somehow, still we are fans of his figure and personality. She is always in limelight for her toned figure, perfect skin, slim waistline, shiny hair and stunning body.

In 2012 she gave birth to her first child, son Viaan. Before her delivery, the stunning actress became eighty pounds. This was happened by eating a high-fat diet including ghee, milk and other fatty products. After giving birth to her son, she started doing light exercises such as cycling and walking. In the beginning, she did exercises for 20 minutes and then she increased the number of workouts. Everyone surprised to find her with losing 20 kg within 10 months.  It is not so easy for any women after postpartum weight gain, as the baby needs more attention. But Shilpa Shetty could succeed to get back her pre-baby body within few months. She managed to do yoga exercises for weight loss when the baby was asleep in the afternoon.  Instead of keeping her secrets of weight loss hidden, she shared about her health and fitness with the world and also tells about yoga asanas for weight loss. In her recently launched book “THE GREAT INDIAN DIET”, co-authored by nutrition and fitness expert Luke Coutinho, she told about the secrets of her toned figure and trimmed waist.

Shilpa Shetty Yoga for weight loss

The bold and beautiful actress started Yoga to ease her neck pain according to the suggestions of a physiotherapist. After practicing yoga, she gradually accustomed to it and started doing Ashtanga Yoga and she liked it also. She is regarded as one of the hottest physic of the film industry and the whole credit goes to yoga. Shilpa has released three audio-visual Yoga CDs on yoga asanas and pranayama and she has described beautifully the importance and how it should be done in a proper way. Now she is expert in yoga and believes that yoga can soothe the body, mind, and soul.

Diet secrets of Shilpa Shetty

Shilpa Shetty is against dieting and she likes to take balanced food to stay fit, slim, skinny and healthy. She focuses on eating carbs which are low in G.I. ( glycemic index) and advises to avoid white carbs. She also takes brown carbs like brown rice, brown pasta, and bread, brown sugar in her diet. She uses olive oil in her cooking and after finishing her workout session, consumes protein shake, 2 dates, and 8 black raisins. She likes to take green tea and avoids sugary fizzy drinks. Though Shilpa follows the above diet to stay fit and fabulous, she relishes one day in a week by enjoying her craving foods, for example, sweet foods.

After giving birth to his son, she used to take 2200 calories in a day which contained low carb, high protein, and high-fat food items but now she has reduced her daily calorie intake to 1800. To maintain a good physic she does not eat after 8 pm and tries to consume her last meal at least 3 hrs before bedtime. She gives some simple tips to lose weight and here are 5 of them.

1) Avoid white carbs
2) Avoid refined sugar
3) Chew your food properly
4) Indian food is great for weight loss
5) Watch your salt intake
